One Happy Island” is the slogan on Aruba’s license plates.Is that reality or hype? In our opinion, it’s a fair claim for this friendly island. The majority of residents and visitors alike seem quite happy to be in Aruba. And why not? The island has some great beaches, enjoyable shopping, nice accommodations, and a relatively high standard of living. If you’re looking for a lush island, though, go elsewhere. Aruba is a generally dry, desert island. You might see a lizard lounging under a cactus. You definitely won’t see a rainforest. |
